Schedule Details
Day 1 Thai-Lao Border- Houyxay - Pakbeng
- Meal: Lunch
At 08:00am, the guests will meet our English-Speaking guide with a welcome sign at Houay Xay immigration office (Lao border).
Our guide will assist customers to apply for the visa. After getting the VISA, guests will take a sharing transfer (minivan) to the slow boat pier to embark on the boat. During the morning, Quick lecture about Do’s and Don’ts in Laos and fun facts will be presented by our guide.
*NOTE: We recommend to the travelers to be at Chiang Khong thai immigration border at before 07:30am to make sure to meet our guide in Lao side on time.
Lao traditional Lunch set is served on board.
Before reaching Pakbeng, we will stop to visit a traditional Kamu village (Ban Houa Phalam), a tiny cozy place which host about 90 families. Travelers will learn about rural lifestyle in a very remote area.The boat will arrive at Pakbeng before the night.
Overnight in your hotel in Pakbeng.
Day 2 Elephant Experience
Breakfast at Resort
Get in deep experience how our mahout communicate with elephants!
This includes presentation of the elephants, elephant encouter in the forest, trekking with them into the jungle and bathing them!
Return to resort at around 15:30 and the rest at your leisure or walking around to discover the villages.
Day 3 Pakbeng - Muangxai
Breakfast at resort
Start our 4 hour drive to Muangxai, capital of the multiethnic province of Oudomxay Province, located in the Nam Ko River Basin and surrounded by scenic mountains.

Day 4 Timeless Moments with the Ikho People
After breakfast, a 4X4 take you from resort following a picturesque route along the banks of the river Nam Pak. after 15 minutes, you leave the road and the trail up the mountain. the trail an be difficult during the rainy season. the drive along the trail takes around 45 minutes and passes through some breathtaking scenery as you rise to 1,200m above sea level. Visit the Khmu Village and Ikho Village. the Ikho are one of the most isolated communities in Laos and originated from Tibet and Yunnan Province in China.
Experience their way of life, their belief in the spirit world which effects everything they do and their unique method of dyeing their clothes using extracts from the plants of the forest.

Transfer back to your resort and the rest of time at your leisure or choose one of short activities such as zipline, cycling around the resort...etc
Day 5 Oudomxay - Nongkhiaw
After breakfast, We will take 3 hour drive southwards to Nongkhiaw! We begin a boat trip up along Ou River about 1hour and half to Muang Ngoi and we then continue a boat trip upstream along Ou river about 40minutes to Sopcheang Village, where Lao Loum, Lao Terng and Kamu live there. Along the way, you can see stunning view of the landscape and its beautiful nature. Arrive the village, walking around to see local live.
Overnight in Nongkhaiw
Day 6 Nongkhiaw - Luang Prabang
Wake early for hiking up about 1hour & half to Nong Khiau View Point. You can see the whole view of the town and its beautiful nature and nice landscape.
Breakfast at resort
Start our journey to Luang Prabang, enroute stop at Ou village, Take a boat cross Khong river visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. We then continue cruise down to Luang Prabang. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, well known for its hand weaving.
Day 7 Luang Prabang City Tour
Our guide will wake you up early for a very special dawn visit to witness the monks leaving their pagodas to receive offerings of food from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Lao people. Visit morning market before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city, followed by Wat Aham and Wat That, where the ashes of King Sisavang Vong are interred inside the large central stupa.
Continue to Wat Xieng Thong, the most photographed temple in Luang Prabang. Afterwards, visit former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, and continues on to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. Next is Wat Sensoukarahm, built in 1718 boasting a dazzling golden façade.
In the evening, enjoy the beauty of the Mekong and relax as our boat takes you along stunning sunset sceneries and Luang Prabang in night time.
Day 8 Rice Farm Experience - Kuangsi Waterfall

Get your hands and camera ready! we'll take you to LIVING LAND FARM, situated in an idyllic countryside setting surrounded by mountains in the middle of ancient rice terraces where you will learn how rice is grown on the farm, experience the life of a rice farmer and try your hand at some of the activities. Or just view it all from the comfort of our traditional Lao rice house terrace.
In the afternoon, we will then drive you through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings or explore the surrounding dense jungle on foot. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where beautiful views await.
On the way back, make a stop at the unique Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm, a social enterprise that produces sustainable and delicious cheese while giving back to the community and environment.
We will then take you for some exercise to climb the 328 steps of Mount Phousi. At the summit, enjoy a beautiful sunset and panoramic views of the city below. After descending, there is a chance to explore the nearby evening hill tribe market before returning to the hotel.
